‘Babies are such a nice way to start people’ ― Don Herold
Paige was one of the smallest newborns I’d ever seen when she came for a shoot at my Wimbledon home. Make that smallest human beings. It was really amazing getting to know this sleepy baby and her parents.
I’d heard of Angela (Paige’s mom) through a South African group I follow on Facebook. Unfortunately it wasn’t in the best of circumstances: Angela’s family member and friend, Tania, died very suddenly – leaving behind her husband, kids and unborn baby. The baby, who was successfully delivered during this ordeal, seems to be doing well despite the terrible tragedy. Angela, who had been pregnant at the same time as Tania, was one of the spokespeople to the group as to Tania’s condition and unfortunate passing. It was through these posts that a whole community of South African expats started donating money to Tania’s family. There are times when I’m proud to be a part of human kind – when people bring tears to your eyes because of their kindness. This was one of those times.
